Clear Memory Cache in Windows to Speed Up Computer

Running multiple applications simultaneously in Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows XP & Vista for long period of time can make the system slow and reduce the system performance. Most of the time we reboot the system to get rid of this problem. Even if we close the applications or kill the application in the Windows Task Manager, the associated tasks/threads with the application are not released completely. So the system becomes slower and sluggish.

To solve this problem, we can clear the memory cache in windows to speed up the system. Follow the below steps to create shortcut for clearing memory cache:

• Right-click on your desktop and Select New > Shortcut

• In type the location of the item path: Enter below information

%windir%\system32\rundll32.exe advapi32.dll,ProcessIdleTasks

• Click Next. In the next screen, Type a name for this shortcut: Ex: Clear Memory

• Click on Finish

Your Clear Memory or Process Idle Tasks shortcut is now created and whenever you feel that your Windows computer is busy not responding to commands, just run this command and it should free up the system. It works on all the versions of Windows Operating system.
